Prayers of Renunciation

Prayer of Renunciation of Ancestral Sins

[Since no one can know for sure what his ancestors may have done, every Christian should pray this prayer. Authorities in Spiritual Warfare report that ancestral issues are the number one cause of demonic harassment in the lives of people.]

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You as Your child, purchased by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I here and now reject and disown all the sins of my ancestors. As one who has been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son, and strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His Name, cancel out, O Lord, all demonic working that has been passed on to me from my ancestors. As one who has been crucified with Jesus Christ and raised to walk in newness of life, cancel, dear Lord, every curse that may have been put upon me and announce to Satan and all his forces that You, the Christ, became a curse for me when You hung on the cross. As one who has been crucified and raised with Christ and now sits with Him in heavenly places, I reject any and every way in which Satan may claim ownership of me. I declare myself to be eternally and completely signed over and committed to the Lord Jesus Christ. Father, I ask You to command every familiar spirit and every enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ that is in or around me to leave me and to go immediately and quietly where Jesus Christ tells these evil spirits to go. I now ask You, heavenly Father, to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I submit my body as an instrument of righteousness, a living sacrifice, that I may glorify You in my body. All this I do in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Renunciation Of Satan and Claiming the Full Victory

I claim the full victory that my Lord Jesus Christ won on the Cross for me. “Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Col. 2:15). His victory for me is my victory.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I renounce all the workings of Satan in my life in all its forms, whether brought into my life by my actions or by others. I break all attachments, ground, curses, spells, and rights Satan may have in my life whether such ground was gained through my actions or through others. Strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask you Lord to command Satan and all his minions, whomever they may be, to get out of my life and stay out. With that authority I now take back the ground in my life gained by Satan through my sins. I reclaim this ground and my life for Christ. I now dedicate myself to the Lord Jesus Christ; I belong to Him alone. Amen.

Holy Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Renunciation Ritual Prayer

[After making a list of all sins committed, ask forgiveness by any prayer of contrition, or for Catholics, confess these sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and perform the penance directed by the priest, and then burn the list of sins, saying this prayer.]

Thank You Heavenly Father for forgiving me. With the destruction of this list, I give up any and all attachment to the sins listed. I give myself permission to forgive myself; I give up these sins to You, Lord, and know that I am now cleansed by the Blood of Christ Jesus, (through the Sacrament of Reconciliation), and am made pure and as white as snow. Thank You for loving me enough to provide the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Your Church that I may be forgiven. Thank You for saving me from myself and from perdition. With the help of the Blessed and Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, Blessed Michael the Archangel, and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His Name, I shall take this blessing of forgiveness as a new beginning to live for You. With that authority I now take back the ground in my life gained by Satan through my sins. I reclaim this ground and my life for Christ. Amen.

  1. I simply wanted to appreciate you all over again. I am not sure what I might have gone through without the information contributed by you relating to that subject. It was actually a intimidating condition in my view, but taking note of a well-written way you resolved that made me to cry over gladness. I will be happy for this assistance and then have high hopes you are aware of an amazing job you have been getting into educating some other people through a site. I know that you have never encountered all of us.
